There may come a time where you need allow your mobile site (ie jquery mobile) to allow some elements on the page to not be confined to the viewport size.  For example, you may have an image on a page allowing a visitor to view the image full screen (ie not be responsive).  When this happens, your natural instinct may be to use the CSS overflow property to have the image scrollable.  The problem is, some of the mobile devices such as versions of iOS and Android do not support the overflow property.

That is where Overthrow comes in. This little JS library can be included in your mobile page providing the support you will need to have your HTML elements overflow correctly.
